Aldi Stores has recalled many cream cheese products due to possible salmonella contamination.
As contained in a May 9 recall circular, Aldi Stores claimed that it was recalling 8 oz. packages of its Happy Farms brand Whipped Cream Cheese Spread, Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread, Cream Cheese Spread and Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread products with the following “Sell by” dates:
The recalled products were bought at Aldi Stores in 28 states and Washington. D.C. The Grocery Chain market said that the recall that it made was in cooperation with Schreiber Foods, Inc., and out many cautions.
Customers who purchased these Cream Cheese Spreads are advised to take them off immediately or return them to their local Aldi Store for a full refund.
Salmonella infections may cause stomach pain, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, and fever. In a few cases, bacterial infections can be deadly, according to the Food and Drug Administration. Young Children, adults that are older than 65, and people with weakened immune systems are at a higher risk for serious illness.
Salmonella poisoning accounts for over 1.3 million infections and 420 fatalities each year in the U.S., as per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Food is the source of the miss illness.
