Actor Henry Cavill has revealed that he and his girlfriend Natalie Viscuso are expecting their first child together. The 40-year-old Justice League star shared the news at the New York City premiere of his upcoming film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
“I’m very excited about it. Natalie and I are both very excited about it. I’m sure you’ll see much more of that,” Cavill told Access Hollywood when asked about taking on fatherhood. The reporter added that the movie star will make “a great dad,” to which Cavill responded with a smile.
Cavill and Viscuso, a television executive at Vertigo Entertainment, went public with their relationship in April 2021 when they each shared a playful photo of themselves playing chess.
The couple made their red carpet debut at the New York premiere of Cavill’s Netflix film Enola Holmes 2 in October 2022.
In December 2022, Cavill and Viscuso announced they were collaborating on an adaptation of the popular game Warhammer 40,000. Cavill called the partnership a “blessing beyond words,” while Viscuso shared that the fantasy and sci-fi genres were “the bedrock” of her creative interests.
Henry Cavill has previously expressed his desire to be an active and fit father, telling Men’s Health UK in 2017, that:
“If I ever have kids one day, I want to be the dad who’s running round after them. And if I do have kids, even now, it’s starting to get quite late. But I want to be a fit and healthy dad, not hobbling round like, ‘OK, I’m just going to catch a breather.'”
The excitement surrounding Cavill’s impending fatherhood comes as he continues to promote his latest project, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Directed by Guy Ritchie, the spy action-comedy is based on recently declassified files of the British War Department and inspired by true events.
Henry Cavill told Access Hollywood that he had a wonderful time on set, saying,
“We all got along really well, and it was just nice working with people who wanted to get stuck in, weren’t afraid of anything.”
