Henry Cavill channels his Inglourious Basterds vibe in Guy Ritchie’s latest action-comedy, “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.”
In the newly released trailer, the 40-year-old former Superman leads a covert combat unit, described as a “motley crew of rogues and mavericks,” embarking on a daring mission against the Nazis. The unconventional fighting techniques employed by this squad are nothing short of ‘ungentlemanly.’
Based on recently declassified files from the British War Department, the film draws inspiration from Damien Lewis’s book, “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare: How Churchill’s Secret Warriors Set Europe Ablaze and Gave Birth to Modern Black Ops.”
Guy Ritchie, renowned for works like “The Covenant,” “Sherlock Holmes,” and “The Gentlemen,” helms the project, featuring a star-studded cast including Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Alex Pettyfer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Henry Golding, Cary Elwes, Babs Olusamokun, Henrique Zaga, and Til Schweiger.
Henry Cavill, who will soon appear in the spy movie “Argylle,” shared his thoughts on Instagram in April, expressing admiration for his co-stars.
He described Alan Ritchson as “the man mountain with a heart of gold” and praised Alex Pettyfer for his warmth and laughter, adding that Hero Fiennes Tiffin possesses a snap-quick acting reaction time and undeniable handsomeness.
