The Gators gymnastics squad showcased their prowess with another impressive performance on Thursday evening, securing a coveted berth in the four-team NCAA Championship set for this Saturday.

Despite finishing as the runners-up to Utah in the NCAA Semifinals at Dickies Arena, Florida displayed remarkable skill, tallying a score of 197.8750, marking the program’s fifth-highest score in NCAA Championships history. Utah clinched victory with a 197.9375, amidst the unexpected stumble of top-seeded and reigning national champion, Oklahoma, who faltered early on vault, ultimately landing in third place (196.5875), with Alabama following in fourth (195.4125).

Ahead of their quest for their first national title since 2015, the Gators had emphasized maintaining composure and minimizing errors, a strategy they executed flawlessly. Despite entering the competition with relatively modest attention, the team’s exceptional performance in the NCAA Gainesville Regional propelled them forward with confidence.

Staying true to their game plan, the Gators delivered a solid performance, avoiding significant errors while witnessing Oklahoma’s challenge unravel on the vault and Alabama falter on the beam.

In the day’s initial semifinal, No. 2 seed LSU claimed victory with an impressive score of 198.1125, joined by No. 3 California (197.7125) in securing a spot in Saturday’s final. Stanford (197.075) trailed in third place, followed by Arkansas (196.475).
