Gangster Goldy Brar, previously believed to have perished in a California shooting, has been confirmed to be alive, as per an IANS report
Lieutenant William J Dooley of Fresno police told the publication “If you are inquiring because of the online chatter claiming that the shooting victim is ‘Goldy Brar’, we can confirm that this is absolutely not true.”
“We have received inquiries from around the world this morning as a result of misinformation being spread on social media and online news agencies. We are not sure who started this rumour, but it caught on and spread like wildfire. But again, it isn’t true. The victim is definitely not Goldy,” he added.
Several Indian media outlets had circulated reports claiming Brar, the Indo-Canadian figure implicated in the murder of Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moosewala, had met his demise in the US.
Born in Punjab in 1994 to a family with ties to law enforcement, Brar gained notoriety after India labeled him a terrorist following Moosewala’s 2022 murder. Allegedly associated with the Babbar Khalsa terrorist organization, active in Canada, according to the Indian Home Ministry.
Initially arriving in Canada in 2017 on a student visa, Brar made a permanent move in 2021. There, he assumed control of operations once overseen by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, currently incarcerated in India. These activities reportedly encompassed contract killings, extortion schemes, and other illicit endeavors back in India. Following an Interpol notice in 2022, Brar purportedly relocated to the US.
Tragically, Goldy’s cousin Gurlal Brar fell victim to unidentified attackers outside a Chandigarh nightclub last year. Bishnoi’s gang later claimed responsibility, citing retribution for the demise of Gurlal Pahalwan, the Youth Congress leader.
