One of the most decorated women in WWE history has reclaimed her throne on Monday Night Raw. Becky Lynch emerged victorious from a 15-woman battle royal to become the new WWE Women’s World Champion.
The heated contest was made necessary after Rhea Ripley was forced to relinquish the title due to a shoulder injury suffered in a vicious post-WrestleMania attack by Liv Morgan. Ripley’s 379-day reign, tying Bayley’s record, came to an abrupt end after that.
But Becky Lynch nicknamed “The Man” was not to be denied her historic comeback. After a chaotic melee that spilled outside the ring, Lynch maneuvered her way into the final three alongside Morgan and the imposing Nia Jax.
In a seesaw battle, the wily veteran temporarily allied with Morgan to eliminate the mighty Jax before turning her sights on her former friend. After a tense back-and-forth, Lynch sealed her victory by planting Morgan with a vicious manhandle slam to the delight of the WWE Universe.
With the win, the 37-year-old Irish wrestler remarkably captures her fifth Women’s World Championship and seventh overall women’s title between WWE’s two main brands. She becomes only the second person after Ripley to hold the unified title representing both Raw and SmackDown.
