A Colorado paraprofessional named Kiarra Jones, arrested for assaulting children with disabilities drew rage on the internet when a video of her hitting an autistic child under her care surfaced.
Jones, a staff of Littleton Public Schools was employed as a bus assistant to help children with autism and other disabilities travel between the school and their homes, was arrested on April 4 after the surveillance camera in the bus captured her hitting the little boy.
Footage of her punching and stomping a disabled 10-year-old boy prompted three families to take legal action against her. Some of the affected families said they started noticing behavioral changes in their children about 6 months ago.
Jones was also accused of inflicting bodily harm on the children under her care. Families noted physical injuries such as scratches, bruises, a lost tooth, a broken toe, black eye, as well as bruises.
