In a dazzling ceremony held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, Krystyna Pyszkova from the Czech Republic was crowned Miss World 2024, marking her country’s second victory in the pageant’s history since Tatana Kucharova’s win in 2006.
The event, which returned to India after a 28-year hiatus, saw Pyszkova emerge victorious among contestants from 112 countries.
Miss Lebanon Yasmina Zaytoun secured the first runner-up position, while Aché Abrahams of Trinidad and Tobago and Lesego Chombo of Botswana rounded out the top four finalists. India’s own Sini Shetty made it to the top 8 but did not advance to the final round.
The newly crowned Miss World, who accepted her title from her predecessor, Karolina Bielawska from Poland, expressed her elation and honor at the opportunity to represent her country and champion certain awareness campaigns on a global stage.
Krystyna Pyszkova, 25, possesses exceptional fluency in English, Polish, Slovak, and German languages. In addition to her linguistic talents, she is currently in pursuit of college degrees in law and business administration. Along with her titles, Krystyna was also presented with the prestigious Best Fashion Designer Award – Europe.
The 71st Miss World pageant concluded with a grand finale that featured not only the crowning but also performances by renowned artists like Neha Kakkar and Shaan.
