Will Trent, the hit ABC crime drama based on the novels by Karin Slaughter, is back for its second season, after premiering on Tuesday, February 20th, at 8 pm ET/PT.
The show follows the adventures of Will Trent (Ramón Rodriguez), a special agent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI) who has a unique talent for reading crime scenes, and his partner Faith Mitchell (Iantha Richardson), a former Atlanta police officer who transferred to the GBI.
The show’s first season introduced the main characters and their backgrounds, as well as the cases they solved, which were inspired by the books.
Will Trent, who suffers from dyslexia and had a traumatic childhood in foster care, is a brilliant but quirky agent who wears three-piece suits and has a pet chihuahua named Betty. Faith Mitchell, who has diabetes and a strong sense of justice, is a loyal and supportive partner who balances her work and family life.
The show also features Erika Christensen as Angie Polaski, Will’s on-and-off girlfriend and fellow foster care survivor who works for the Atlanta Police Department (APD); Sonja Sohn as Amanda Wagner, Will’s boss at the GBI and the woman who saved him as a baby; and Jake McLaughlin as Michael Ormewood, Angie’s partner at the APD.
Will Trent’s second season promises to deliver more thrilling and complex cases, as well as more character development and drama. According to the official synopsis, “Will and Faith will face new threats and old enemies as they navigate the dark and dangerous world of crime in Atlanta. Along the way, they will also discover more secrets about their pasts, their families, and their relationships.”
Will Trent is available to stream on Hulu in the US and on Disney Plus in the UK. Fans can also catch up on the first season and read the books by Karin Slaughter to prepare for the second season.
