Scott Swift, father of pop star Taylor Swift, is implicated in an incident involving a photographer in Sydney, Australia. The incident is reported to have occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, soon after Taylor concluded her Eras Tour in the country.

Photographer Ben McDonald, aged 51, alleges that he was struck in the face by Scott at Neutral Bay Wharf around 2:30 a.m. The photographer had been trailing Taylor Swift and her party following their time on a superyacht in the harbor.

According to his account, he faced obstruction from security guards who used umbrellas to block his camera and confront him, during which time, he claims, Scott physically assaulted him. He also noted that the Antihero singer had already departed in a vehicle when the altercation took place.

The incident has been reported to the local police, and they have confirmed that “inquiries are now underway by officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command.”

McDonald stated he did not require medical care but expressed his shock at the alleged assault.

“In 23 years of doing this I’ve never been assaulted, let alone been punched in the face by a father”

He mentioned that he only realized the identity of the popstar’s father after reviewing his photographs.

While a representative for Taylor did not address the claims against her father, the spokesperson stated that,

“Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water.”

Taylor Swift recently finished the Australian segment of her global concert tour. The tour saw her playing to sold-out venues in Melbourne and Sydney, including a record-setting performance for 81,000 attendees at Melbourne Cricket Ground on February 16th.

Additionally, she impressed fans across four nights at Sydney’s Accor Stadium, with an estimated total of 600,000 people attending these performances over two weekends.
