Selena Gomez is back with a new single that celebrates romance in the City of Love. The pop star released ‘Love On’ on Thursday along with a music video that features stunning views of Paris and various couples kissing passionately.
This song is quite catchy and playfully flirtatious both on-screen and within the lyrics. The artist sings,
“Clock in, baby get to work / Night shift but with all the perks / Time stamping when you fell in love / Time can’t mess with us….Why we conversing over this steak tartare when we could be / Somewhere other than here making out in the back of a car / Or in the back of a bar.”
The song was produced by the Monsters & Strangerz and Isaiah Tejada, and is inspired by Gomez’s recent experiences in Paris, where she filmed the musical Emilia Perez with Zoe Saldana.
The music video, directed by Greg Ohrel, reflects Gomez’s love for the French city, as she showcases various outfits and locations, such as a hotel balcony, a nail salon, a ballet studio, and a nightclub. The video also features a diverse cast of couples, who share intimate moments throughout the clip.
‘Love On’ is Gomez’s first new song of 2024, following her 2020 album Rare and her 2021 Spanish-language EP Revelación. It is also the first single from her upcoming third album, which she has hinted may be her last, as she wants to focus on other projects.
Selena Gomez is also busy with her acting career, as she stars in the hit Hulu series Only Murders in the Building, which has been renewed for a fourth season. She will also portray Linda Ronstadt in an upcoming biopic.
Gomez’s ‘Love On’ is available on all streaming platforms, and the music video can be watched below.
