In her senior career breakthrough, Amber Glenn secured the U.S. women’s figure skating championship, marking her sixth appearance at the event. Despite previous podium finishes, including a third place last year, Glenn’s overall score of 210.46 finally clinched the coveted gold.

Glenn’s historic win establishes her as the first openly LGBTQ+ skater to claim the U.S. women’s title. While Josephine Lee earned the silver medal with a 204.13 overall score, Isabeau Levito, initially in the lead after the short programs, faced challenges in the free skate, ultimately securing third place.

During Mia Kalin’s performance, spectators witnessed another historic moment in the women’s free skate program, as the 15-year-old cleanly landed a quadruple jump, making her the first woman to achieve this feat at the U.S. Championships.

On the men’s side, Jason Brown, a former Olympian and 2015 U.S. champion, faced a setback in the short program but maintained a positive outlook.

The men’s champion is yet to be determined, with the ice dance and pairs events set to conclude with their long programs on Saturday.
