He defended himself against accusations of antisemitism and insisted that advertisers shouldn’t think they could blackmail him.
Musk pointed to his contributions through Tesla and SpaceX, emphasizing his impact on the environment. Major companies suspended ads on X, leading to financial concerns, and Musk stated, “Let the chips fall where they may.”
The controversy prompted condemnation from the White House, and Musk’s visit to Israel and subsequent discussions conveyed a stance against antisemitism.
Musk, in a wide-ranging interview, discussed topics from freedom of speech to the environment and U.S. presidential politics, indicating he might not vote to re-elect President Joe Biden but didn’t declare support for a specific challenger.
