San Antonio Spurs shooting guard Devin Vassell, a fourth-year player who has been very effective for the franchise has been overshadowed by Victor Wembanyama’s hype.
Vassell is hitting 50% on all of his tightly guarded shots, including 42.1% of his three-pointers. He averages about 12.6 attempts per game night, and six of them are tightly marked.
The 23-year-old is averaging 17.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game which may seem average but Vassell has been vital for Spurs.
Although the San Antonio Spurs have lost six straight games, Vassell signed an extension this summer worth $146 million and he has proven that he is a fighter.
The franchise is currently experimenting with Jeremy Sochan at the point guard position and the experiment isn’t working.
Many Spurs players have had to create chances for themselves, which is not working out.
