PSG has eliminated Manchester United from the UEFA Women’s Champions League after Arsenal was eliminated on penalties by Paris FC.
United were beaten 3-1 in the second leg in France to lose the qualifying tie 4-2 on aggregate to the host.
Lieke Martens scored a 17th-minute opener for PSG and in the 47th minute, United midfielder Lisa Naalsund leveled the game.
Martens scored her second goal of the game in the 48th minute, pushing PSG a step closer to their qualification.
United searched for a second equaliser but Katarzyna Kiedrzynek saved from Hannah Blundell and Geyse.
Katie Zelem also drew another save from Kiedrzynek from a free-kick.
Sandy Baltimore scored the last goal of the night, crushing Manchester United’s hopes of reaching the group stage.
Scottish Women’s Premier League champions Glasgow City fell at the same stage as United, and they suffered a huge 6-0 defeat on aggregate to Norwegian champions Brann.
This means that the only English team in the Champions League group stages is Women’s Super League champions Chelsea.
Manchester United return to WSL action on Sunday as they face Everton away at Walton Hall Park; kick-off 1 p.m.
