Lincoln Football To Forfeit 5 Games After Using Ineligible Player

The Lincoln Prep football team would be forfeiting five games, which would be a win for all their opponents after it was concluded that an ineligible player participated in varsity games.

“It has come to our attention that during this academic year, an ineligible player participated in several Varsity games in a limited capacity,” a letter to parents read.

“We take full responsibility for this oversight and sincerely regret any concerns it may have caused. To address this matter, we have reported the incident to the appropriate governing body and are cooperating fully with their investigation.

Additionally, we will adhere to vacate the five games deemed necessary by MSHSAA.”

Lincoln Prep will be playing Southeast on Friday night.

They were entering the week with six wins and one loss out of seven games played.

This is the second time in two weeks that a metro football team has had to forfeit their games after using ineligible players.

Late last week, Grandview decided to forfeit four games for also using an eligible player.
