Lawrence Leads Jaguars To A Big Win Over New Orleans Saints

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence led his team to a 31-24 win over the New Orleans Saints on Thursday despite negative news about his playing time.

Lawrence was just recovering from a sprained knee he suffered Sunday and he threw a superb, 44-yard touchdown to Christian Kirk with 3:08 remaining.

For the first time this season, the Saints could only garner. 500, but they were still able to level their points 24-24 after lagging by 15 points.

The Jaguars put up 17 points and 226 yards in the first half but managed just 14 yards on three plays in the third quarter.

Jaguars’ punter Logan Cooke threw a 13-yard pass to receiver Tim Jones on fourth-and-2 from the New Orleans 46-yard line, giving Jones just his fourth catch of the season, his first since Sept. 24.

It was the first fake punt the Jaguars have run since Andrew Wingard carried the ball for 4 yards on fourth-and-2 against the New York Jets on Dec. 26, 2021.

The Saints found it difficult to score in the first and the fourth quarter, with four straight passes falling incomplete, similar to their loss at the Houston Texans last Sunday.

Carr completed 33-of-55 passes for 301 yards and a touchdown but was mostly ineffective for the first three quarters. Carr, who had 353 passing yards last week, also threw a pick-six.

Carr targeted tight end Foster Moreau in the corner of the end zone on third-and-6 with 30 seconds left, but the ball fell off his hands.

In other news, the Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Seahawks 17-13 after losing three of its first four games.

Cincinnati’s star-studded offense is one of the least productive in the NFL, with the unit ranked last in yards per game and averaging 14.3 points per contest, which is 29th in the league.
