Haaland was the star of the night and neither Andre Onana nor Harry Maguire could stop the deadly striker from worsening Manchester United’s woes.
Pep Guardiola’s treble winners are third in the standings on 24 points after 10 games, two points behind leaders Tottenham Hotspur.
After the defeat, United are sitting in the eighth position with 15 points and they must be very careful now.
“Amazing. A fantastic win and the game was incredible and the team, everything,” Haaland said.
“It is definitely one of the best wins,” added midfielder Bernardo Silva. “To win 3-0 away with this crowd, I think it is definitely one of the best performances.”
Haaland put the visitors in front when he converted the penalty that Rasmus Højlund gave away after VAR showed the striker pulling Rodri during a freekick.
The Norwegian has scored 11 goals this season which is equal to the number of goals that United has scored in the Premier League this season.
The second goal came some minutes into the second half when Bernado Silver made an overlapping run and sent a pass to Haaland who headed it home.
Phil Foden added the third from close range in the 80th after goalkeeper André Onana pushed away a shot from Rodri that landed at the feet of Haaland for an easy cross to Foden.
Onana had previously saved Haaland’s header and McTominay also had his shot pushed over the bar by Ederson.
United would want to forget this encounter and focus on their match on Wednesday.
