Manchester United may be back to winning ways after successfully thrashing Crystal Palace to keep their Carabao Cup title defense alive.
Casemiro was on fire once again as he scored a goal and set up an assist to give the Red Devils their much-needed win, after a slow start this season.
With Mason Mount back in the starting XI and fellow summer signing Sofyan Amrabat making his first start, Ten Hag had some key players in his team.
In the 21st minute, Alejandro Garnacho opened the scoring for his team, turning Diogo Dalot’s cutback into the net.
Six minutes later, Casemiro doubled up the host lead as he sent in Mount’s superb corner. At halftime, United were sitting comfortably in the last 16.
Morocco international Amrabat was also very impressive in his first start in the Red Shirt. He also played as a left-back and he demonstrated an excellent passing range, plenty of energy, and an ability to spot danger when it arose.
Goalkeeper Andre Onana was also very impressive making two excellent late saves, and denying two close-range efforts from Palace striker Jean-Phillippe Mateta on both occasions, although he was free for most of the night.
Anthony Martial sealed the deal for United in the 55th minute, firing a shot from an acute angle past Crystal Palace’s second-choice goalkeeper and scoring his first goal of the season.
