According to Today, Ariana Grande has a new boyfriend, after she was confirmed to be dating Ethan Slater.
Ariana Grande recently separated from her husband Dalton Gomez, a few days ago after they were married for about two years.
Ethan Slater also was formerly married to singer Lilly Jay. The two started dating in 2012, married in November 2018, and celebrated their four-year wedding anniversary in November 2022.
Slater and Jay had a baby for their union in August 2022 and Slater made his Instagram account private on Thursday.
It was reported that Ariana Grande and her ex-husband Dalton Gomez had tried to reconcile but failed, with Entertainment Tonight saying that both are still friends and talk regularly over the phone.
Both TMZ and People reported that he and Grande started dating after both of their relationships ended.
In May, Slater sent a lovely Mother’s Day message to his now-ex-wife Jay on Instagram. “Happy first Mother’s Day to the most loving caring and wonderful mom/person in the world. – from me and this little guy”, he wrote. Grande “liked” the post.
Last November, Slater shared a post to “best friend,” Jay, on their fourth wedding anniversary.
“4 years married, 10 years together. And this is easily the best (and most *bizarre*) year yet,” Slater wrote, sharing various photos of the pair over the years.
An insider told PEOPLE that Grande’s work on the movie “Wicked” overseas was partially to blame for the couple’s split because it put a long-distance strain on the pair (Gomez, 27, is a luxury real-estate agent based in Los Angeles).
Ethan Slater also starred in the movie.
“She was happy in Los Angeles for a couple of years. She wanted to make a life there with Dalton,” the source said. “He is super focused on his career and needs to live in Los Angeles. It’s definitely been an issue for them.”
“Dalton’s career is demanding and he can’t leave Los Angeles often. So when [Grande] started filming Wicked in England, they were in for a long-distance marriage.”
In the movie, Grande will act as Glinda in Universal’s film adaptation of the beloved Broadway musical, while Slater will play Boq, the love interest of Elphaba’s sister Nessarose.
The movie production started last year in the U.K. and was scheduled for release in November 2024.
