The United States men’s national team (USMNT) defeated Mexico 3-0 to head to the final of the Concacaf Nations League.

The high-paced match which was dominated by the US on Thursday night saw four red cards. The USMT will next play against Canada on Sunday.

The match went into chaos in the second half, as Mexican players resorted to ugly tackles which earned them two red cards – Cesar Montes and Gerardo Arteaga sent off. Two U.S. players – Weston McKennie and Sergino Dest also got red cards and will be suspended for the final on Sunday.

Trouble also started when Mexican fans at the Allegiant Stadium started a homophobic chant which stopped the game twice, the second time, forcing the referee to stop the match early in stoppage time.

It was also reported thatGregg Berhalter would be returning as U.S. national team head coach, right as the game was kicking off.
