Actress Kirstie Alley, who is known for her role in “Cheers and movies like “Look Who’s Talking,” is dead and her reported underlying cause of death is colon cancer.
According to her family, they never knew she had a cancerous growth in her body until recent times.
On how Kirstie Louise Alley who was aged 71 years old died, her family gave also a peek in the statement they released;
“We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered.
“She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead.
“As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother.”
Her family also revealed that she was a lover of animals, as stated in their tribute.
“Our mother’s zest and passion for life, her children, grandchildren and her many animals, not to mention her eternal joy of creating, were unparalleled and leave us inspired to live life to the fullest just as she did.”
Kirstie was born on 12 January 1951, in Wichita, Kansas, United States. She had her major breakthrough in the entertainment industry after her role as Rebecca Howe in NBC’s Cheers, for which she received an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe in 1991.
The grandmother of one has been married twice; first to Bob Alley, then to Parker Stevenson, and died in Tampa, Florida, US.
Kirstie Alley had also starred in other blockbuster movies such as; Look Who’s Talking, Mad House, and Drop Dead Gorgeous.
She also was part of some major TV shows such as; Kirstie Alley’s Big Life and Season 12 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, of which she was a contestant.
She was also part of Celebrity Big Brother in Britain, where she finished in second place, and this year, she was a contestant in the Season 7 of Fox’s “The Masked Singer.
