Taylor Swift is the only artist to ever take over the entire Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The top 10 tracks on this week’s Hot 100 are all from Taylor Swift’s Oct. 21-released album Midnights. With this information, Swift tops Drake’s achievement from the previous year, when he claimed nine of the Top 10 positions on the Hot 100 chart.

“Anti-Hero” dethroned Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ “Unholy,” which had held the top spot the previous week and left its own imprint on history.

The album continues to set milestones, ranking third in all-time album streaming weeks and becoming the most streamed album ever in a single day on Spotify and Apple Music. Swift’s best streaming week in 2021 was previously held by her album Red (Taylor’s Version).

Midnights became the biggest week for an album in 7 years (since Adele’s 25), and it also gave Swift her eleventh No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. According to Billboard, Swift has tied Barbara Streisand for the most No. 1 albums recorded by a female artist.

Using a conversational singing approach to present stories for after-hours that are motivated by self-loathing, fantasizing about retaliation, and pondering what might have been, Swift focused Midnights on the cliché of the midnight confession.

Swift has been re-recording her previous albums in addition to producing new songs since her former label, Big Machine, sold her back catalog to private equity firm Ithaca Holdings for an alleged $300 million. Her albums Fearless and Red have been re-recorded and published.
