Police are looking for suspects involved in a shooting on Thursday, in a busy store inside the Mall of America, according to officials. The Bloomington Police Department Chief Booker Hodges reported that the suspects, mostly young people, left the area.

According to further investigations, only one person fired the three shots.

According to Hodges, police believe that this was an isolated event and that there is no immediate threat to the public.

The incident resulted in a lockdown at the country’s largest mall, which was later shuttered for the day but will open again on Friday, according to Mall of America spokesperson Dan Jasper.

Images captured by shoppers showed people taking cover, including a sizable crowd in the mall’s basement.

Additionally, it depicts customers running away from the theme park within the enormous mall’s ground floor while holding their kids’ hands and clutching their luggage.

Another video showed individuals leaving the mall’s expansive interior atrium area in a hurry as well as a pair of police officers, one of whom was carrying a gun.

According to its website, the Mall of America prohibits weapons on its property. The mall has no metal detectors, and no one is checking customers as they enter. Additionally, two persons were injured there in a shooting on New Year’s Eve.
