Taylor Swift is returning at the VMAs after an absence of three years. The pop sensation attended the VMAs 2022 red carpet ceremony on Sunday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, with Dylan O’Brien and Rina Yang, who are both participants in the short film “All Too Well: The Short Film,” which Taylor Swift directed and is nominated for five prizes.
With a sparkling Oscar de la Renta dress covered in thousands of shimmering stones, matching Christian Louboutin heels in the style of chandeliers, and Lorraine Schwartz diamond drop earrings and rings for even more shine, Swift, 32, looked every bit the ever-lovely jewel (to quote her 10-minute hit).
She added her trademark red lipstick and a crystal-studded cat eye for extra glitz as she swept her hair back and split it down the center.
Oscar de la Renta shared (and then quickly deleted) a Reel showcasing the design up close, captioned with, “Shining just for you tonight” — lyrics from the singer’s track “Mirror Ball” — and a disco ball emoji. This sparked speculation that Swift would be wearing this particular party-ready dress.
