Safety Damontae Kazee suffered a wrist injury, which head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers Mike Tomlin described as severe. Following the game, a report from Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette stated that Kazee would require surgery and that the team would put him on injured reserve. A return date has not yet been set.

In the Steelers’ final preseason game of the year against the Detroit Lions, Kazee was hurt. He missed a tackle down the sideline in the second half, falling awkwardly on his wrist.

He remained on the ground until trainers showed up and led him away. He was later seen wearing a sling watching from the sidelines.

In Kazee’s absence, it will be expected that Miles Killebrew and Tre Norwood will step up. Elijah Riley, who was just signed and played against the Lions last week, might also get more playing time.
