Sergey Brin: Google Co-founder Hires Private Judge To Dissolve Marriage With Nicole Shanahan. No Spousal Support

Sergey Brin, a co-founder of Google and a $94 billion businessman, has appointed a private “temporary judge” to oversee the dissolution of his marriage to Nicole Shanahan, his wife of three years.

According to court records, the Google co-founder, 48, who is currently the sixth richest person in the world, with an estimated net worth of $94 billion, filed for divorce from his wife Nicole Shanahan back in early January.

Business Insider was the first to report that he cited “irreconcilable differences,” saying that the couple holds joint assets to be divided in the proceedings, which “are to be determined.”

Sergey Brin is also requesting shared custody of their 2-year-old kid. He does not ask Shanahan for spousal support and asks that she not receive it either.

California is striving to help deal with its backlogged courts, so Brin filed in Santa Clara Superior Court to get a temporary judge to preside over his case.

As a result, the couple will be able to move on with their divorce through the backlogged courts.

Additionally, it guarantees a greater degree of privacy, and the filing underscores the ex-couple’s desire for secrecy regarding the proceedings.

Although Larry Page and Sergey Brin parted ways with the search engine’s parent firm Alphabet in 2019, Brin still holds a majority interest, according to Forbes. The two co-founded Google in 1998.
