Everything Everywhere About Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest 2022

Cooking outdoors, setting off fireworks, and watching people stuff their mouths with as many icky, soggy hot dogs as they can. The infamous and repulsive Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest is back for the Fourth of July.

Joey Chestnut is the undisputed winner of the men’s tournament, as he has been for the previous fifteen years. Since his initial victory in 2007, Chestnut has only lost once, and he seems to be growing better. He beat the previous record he set in 2020 by one by eating 76 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes last year, breaking it.

If you want to consider eating hot dogs as a sport and the participants as athletes, no other athlete has dominated a single sport for as long Jaws has. Think C. Ronaldo winning the Golden Boot in the EPL for 15 years.

While Chestnut is the featured name, a legend is making a comeback in the women’s competition in 2022. After missing the competition in 2021 due to pregnancy, Miki Sudo is back.

With 48.5 hot dogs with buns, Sudo presently holds the female world record and has won seven of the last eight competitions.

In all honesty, Michele Lasco, who took home the award with a score of 30.25 last year, won because Sudo chose not to compete. It is inconceivable that anyone from outside of Sudo will challenge in the women’s draw.

Rules of The 2022 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest

Participants have ten minutes to eat as many hot dogs and buns as they can. Water is provided to them so they can drink, dip, or drench themselves.

If there is a tie, the fastest person who can consume five hot dogs in the shortest amount of time will be declared the winner.

Is Joey Chestnut Injured?

Chestnut, who has won the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest 15 times, will take part in the competition despite having a ruptured tendon in one of his legs.

Chestnut, who said his injury wouldn’t affect his performance, used crutches to go to the official weigh-in for the competition on Friday.

“I’m gonna eat like a madman. It’s all right. I’ll be able to stand up and eat. I’m excited.”

Chestnut told Fox News Digital.

Can you vomit after Nathan’s Hot Dog Contest?

Vomiting, often known as a “reversal” or, as the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest term it, a “reversal of fortune,” encompasses any overt evidence of vomiting as well as any minute amounts of food that may fall from the mouth but are judged to have originated in the stomach.

Did Matt Stonie beat Joey Chestnut in Nathan’s hot dog eating contest?

In 2015, at the Fourth of July hot dog eating competition at Nathan’s Famous on Coney Island, Matt Stonie overcame Joey “Jaws” Chestnut, shocking the competitive eating world and ending Chestnut’s quest for a ninth consecutive triumph.

The 23-year-old Stonie, who came in second the previous year, consumed 62 hot dogs and buns, topping Chestnut by two. From San Jose, California, they both hail.

What time is the 2022 Nathan Eating Contest?

The women’s competition for the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest will start at 10:45 a.m. ET on Monday, while the men’s competition will start at noon ET.

What channel is airing the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest?

The men’s tournament will air on ESPNews at noon ET, while the women’s competition will air live on ESPN3 and stream on the ESPN app. FuboTV also offers live streaming of the event.

Who Won Last Years Eating Contest?

Joey Chestnut, often known as “Jaws,” broke his own record by devouring 76 hot dogs in ten minutes, breaking it from 75. Miki Sudo, the top-ranked woman, will compete again after missing 2021’s competition due to pregnancy.
She achieved a personal best of 48 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes before going on maternity leave. Michelle Lesco, who won the competition the previous year and consumed 30 hot dogs and buns, will face off against Sudo.
