More information about the catastrophe in Mexico that killed two actors and injured two cast members and four staff members while filming the Netflix series The Chosen One has emerged.

The filming of the series has been temporarily halted by Redrum, the firm in charge of the production. On June 16th, the tragedy occurred while the victims were traveling from Santa Rosa to the local airport. The cast and crew members who were hurt are in stable condition.

Netflix has yet to respond to the mishap.

SAG-AFTRA is investigating the incident.

“We’ve spoken with Netflix and the Mexican actors union ANDA about this occurrence, and we’re looking into the circumstances with local production,” a spokeswoman stated. “Security is always a high focus on set.” We will continue to take all required precautions to protect the safety of our members and others at work.”

Previously, crew members were riding in a van when it crashed and flipped near the set of the Netflix show The Chosen One.

Officials say two actors died and six other crew members were hurt in the tragedy. At first, the victims were unknown. Raymundo Garduo Cruz and Juan Francisco González Aguilar died subsequently, according to the Baja California Department of Culture.

The collision occurred near Mulege on the Baja California Sur peninsula, on a desolate road.

The crew was filming in Santa Rosalia, which was close by.

The Chosen One is a 12-year-old child who discovers he is the resurrected Jesus Christ, destined to save humanity. It is based on the Mark Millar and Peter Gross comic book series.

An anonymous independent production company is filming the series. Officials have no idea whether the mishap would have an impact on production.
