Rusty Bowers, the speaker of Arizona house, testified on Tuesday, how the former president of the United States, Donald Trump, his lawyer at that time, Rudy Giuliani, as well as other Republicans, had pressurized him to overturn the 2020 presidential elections won by Biden.
According to Rusty, they had pressured him to cancel electors for Joe Biden, after the election has been concluded and he (Biden) won, an act he said was against his faith.
His testimony was heard before the House committee investing the attack on the US Capitol.
He further said Trump had requested him to initiate a hearing to investigate allegations of fraud in Arizona, but the speaker thought there was no evidence and hence did not merit a hearing.
He also added that Lawyer John Eastman also asked him to put the play in motion and “let the court sort it out” since he didn’t want to be in the center play.
Rusty Bowers however said he stood against all odds but that didn’t come with some issues. He said his home has been terrorized by many groups, accusing him of being a pedophile and a corrupt politician.
