Empire Actress Lindsey Pearlman Found Dead

Lindsey Pearlman was found dead in Los Angeles on Friday, after being reported missing on the 13th[] of February.

Lindsey Erin Pearlman was last seen at her home in East Hollywood in the 1600 block of Mariposa Avenue on Feb. 13, 2022, 3.5 miles away from where her body was found.

“Today around 8:30 a.m., Hollywood Area officers responded to a radio call for a death investigation at Franklin Avenue and North Sierra Bonita Avenue,” the LAPD said in a statement yesterday. 

“The L.A. County Coroner’s Office has since confirmed the individual to be Lindsey Erin Pearlman.”

Lindsey Pearlman’s Family’s Reaction

Her husband, Vance Smith, posted the following on his Instagram:

“The police found Lindsey. She’s gone. I’m broken. I will share more later, but I wanted to [say] thank you to everyone for their love and efforts and ask you to respect the privacy of the family at this time.”

Before that, he made a post regarding the Missing Person flier and some corrections:

Hi friends. “This is real. The last seen date is incorrect. Lindsey was last seen on 2/15 at 9pm. 

I can’t share anymore details at this time. I am seeing and appreciate your messages of love and support, but I do not have the capacity to respond to all of them. 

Currently, the only way you can help is if you have specific information regarding her whereabouts or those of her car in the last two days. I will let people know when I have more information.”

Savannah Pearlman, Lindsey’s cousin, posted the following on her Twitter page on February 17: 

“LA people, my cousin – Lindsey Pearlman – is missing. Her phone last pinged on Sunset Blvd. 

My uncle is offering a reward that leads to finding her, please keep your eyes open. #MissingPerson #LA”

On the 18th she commented on it with an update:

“UPDATE: I’m deeply sad to report that they have found Lindsey, and it was too late. I have no other information about the location or circumstance.

Lindsey was a fierce animal advocate and a talented actress. Please consider a donation to @SanteDOr in her honor.”

Notable Chicago stage appearances include The Mousetrap at Northlight Theatre, Trevor at A Red Orchid Theatre, and Polarity Theatre Ensemble’s Never the Bridesmaid, for which she received the Joseph Jefferson Citation for Actress in a Principal Role.  

After testing for a network television sitcom, securing a holding deal with NBC, and being cast in a recurring role on NBC’s Chicago Justice, Lindsey decided to move to Los Angeles in pursuit of more on-camera opportunities. 

A graduate of The Second City Conservatory, Lindsey was cast in the national Equity tour of Second City Theatricals’ The Realish Housewives: A Parody.  

Her improv training also prepared her for 7 years of performing the Catharsis Productions’ internationally touring show Sex Signals, which uses comedy to broach the difficult topic of sexual assault awareness at military bases and college campuses.

News of her death comes on the heels of Bob Saget’s demise.
