Kourtney Kardashian was born in Los Angeles, California as the eldest of four children of Kris Jenner (née Kristen Mary Houghton) and attorney Robert Kardashian, with siblings Kim Kardashian West, Khloé Kardashian, and Rob Kardashian. Her father was of Armenian descent and her mother is of mostly English ancestry.
In 1991, when she was age 12, her parents divorced and she spent her time between their separate houses in Beverly Hills. Kardashian first became known to reality-television audiences on the 2005 series, Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive, on which she earned money for charity. In February 2007, a sex tape made by her sister Kim and former boyfriend Ray J in 2003, Kim Kardashian, Superstar, was leaked, which largely contributed to her rise to prominence. Thanks to her reality shows, audiences were privy to the ups and downs of Kourtney’s relationship with her long-term boyfriend, Scott Disick. The couple started dating in 2006. During the filming of Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami, the couple split temporarily. Before the show aired, the couple reunited and Kourtney discovered she was pregnant.
Kourtney and Scott’s first child, a son named Mason Disick, was born on December 14, 2009. Kourtney gave birth to a girl named Penelope Scotland Disick on July 8, 2011.
