Amazon Web Service experienced an outage that greatly hampered its delivery operations as communications between Amazon and its numerous drivers were shut down.
It was reported that an Amazon.com Inc. app which is used to communicate with delivery drivers was down. This saw ordered packages pile up as the delivery agents couldn’t log into the Amazon app to get delivery orders.
The global e-commerce company directed its customers to alternate-working servers and later said the cause of the downtime has been located and much of it has been resolved.
The Amazon Web Service also affected other major websites and services. They include Netflix, Coinbase, Walt Disney, Robinhood Markets, while Amazon services such as music and video streaming, voice-activated Alexa platform and security arm, Ring, were also affected.
