The Game awards 2021 was held yesterday and “It Takes Two” a Co-op game took the lead, winning the game of the year.
It Takes Two, a game centered around a couple and nominated in six categories, also won the award for the Best Family Game and Best Multiplayer Game.
Other awards won at the event was by Deathloop winning the Best Direction, Guardians of the Galaxy winning the Best Narrative, and Metroid Dread winning the Best Action-Adventure Game.
Other awards were then announced, they are;
Resident Evil 4 VR winning Best AR/VR Game,
League of Legends winning Best Esports Game,
It Takes Two winning Best Family Game,
Age of Empires IV winning Best Strategy Game,
Elden Ring winning Most Anticipated Game, and
Guilty Gear Strive going home with the Best Fighting Game.
Other announcements made include:
A new Star Wars game called Star Wars Eclipse.
Sonic, the blue hedgehog to get its movie and game released the same day in April 2022.
Alan Wake 2 trailer is out and the game is to be released in 2023.
Elden Ring to be released 25 February 2022.
Halo the series to be released in 2022.
Wonder Woman getting a solo game in a single-player mode.
The Game Awards 2021 had about 9.8 million views, a far cry compared to the 83 million viewers amassed the previous year.
