There are viral reports that the third mainland bridge is shaking and a part of it has even opened up.
The trending news quickly created panic amongst motorists and other users plying the longest bridge in West Africa, also known as 3MB.
However, the Federal Government through the Ministry of Works has debunked the news, saying any report that the third mainland bridge is shaking is false.
The Ministry of Works through its spokesman – Boade Akinola said the third mainland bridge is very safe, as an on-site check was immediately carried out after they got the news.
“Giving an on-the-spot report on the Bridge, the controller, who said he just drove along the Bridge without noticing any opening or experiencing any shaking as contained in the social media report, advised members of the public. “
“Especially commuters to ignore the insinuations as the Bridge, which is receiving regular attention along with others across the country, is safe for use.”
