Governor Willie Obiano today 30th of October, 2021, commissioned the Anambra state international and cargo airport, located at Umueri.
The newly commissioned airport however had its first setback after the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) failed to approve two flights that were destined to land there.
The NCAA said they refused to grant the airline leave to go to Anambra airport because the airlines do not have a counter at the airport.
It was disclosed that Air Peace, Ibom Air, Dana Air, United Nigeria Air, and Anab Jets were set to kickstart operations in the new Anambra airport.
