In an onsite interview between journalists and the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, which was captured by Channels TV, the police explained the reason behind the show of force exhibited prior to the Yoruba Nation rally or protest, held in Ojota yesterday.
The Police rep in the interview denied receiving any letter, informing them of the upcoming Yoruba Nation Rally nor seeking the protection of protesters.
They held that the purpose of the rally was to warn intending miscreants and thugs that would want to hijack the protest, whilst also assuring the peaceful protesters of their safety
