There are strong talks gearing up to England player, Callum Hudson-Odoi, changing his Nationality to Ghana, in order to play for the Black Stars of Ghana in the forthcoming 2022 World Cup.

The change of Nationality started after Callum Hudson-Odoi visited his country, Ghana, and had discussions with the Ghanian President; Nana Akufo-Addo.

President Nana Akufo-Addo urged him to switch nationality and play for the Black Stars of Ghana. He further advised the Minister of Sports to look into the possibility.

Callum Hudson-Odoi was also advised to switch Nationality from England to Ghana because it would afford him more opportunities and games which will be best for his career.

George Boateng gave young Callum Hudson-Odoi the following advice in an interview with Citi Sports.

“My advice would be that if you don’t see a future there [England] for you to play regular football, [then consider Ghana] because let’s not make a mistake here, Hudson-Odoi is an outstanding world-class footballer,”

“He is only going to get better and it will be a shame if he only ends up having five or six caps for England and doesn’t make a final tournament like a World Cup or European Championship ever in his career.”
