Lagos stood still as Buhari came in town to commission the 156km Lagos- Ibadan standard gauge railway train line. The railway line which was started in March 2017 is one of the first mega projects to be started and completed by the same administration.

The newly built Lagos to Ibadan railway line which was commissioned by President Buhari today in Lagos State which is governed by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, under Rotimi Amaechi as the Minister of Transportation, started its test run in December 2020.

One of its stations- the Ebutte Metta railway station is currently the largest railway station in West Africa, with a holding passenger capacity of 6,000 people.

The newly built Lagos-Ibadan rail way is also the first double track standard guage rail in West Africa.
