The president of Tanzania is dead after a few days of hospitalization. He was reported to have died from heart complications, a condition he had managed for over 10 years.
Tanzanian vice now interim president- Samia Suluhu, has called for 14-days national mourning to mourn his demise, with the national flag flying at half-mast. She is to take over the mantle as President and serve for the remainder of their 5 years tenure.
There were rumors that the former leader may have died from Covid-19 complications, even as others held he initially downplayed the reality of the Coronavirus and the efforts of the World Health Organization in fighting it.
