An enormous explosion occurred in the Ikarama area of Bayelsa state shaking homes within and around the environment. The explosion occurred in the oil facilities belonging to Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) and Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC).
Reports confirm that oil inflows to the affected pipeline have been switched off after the explosion which sounded like dynamites rocked the facility.
It was further gathered that an inquiry has been launched to get to the root cause of the explosion but news abound that it was a pre-meditated attack by unknown persons.
