The former Governor of Lagos State and current Minister of Works & Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, discovered a mysteriously hidden camera at the Lekki Tollgate, seven days after peaceful #endsars protesters were massacred by the Nigerian army, an act the Government denies.
The discovery was made by Fashola when he came for a condolence visit to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Fashola came with an entourage of delegation, on the directive of the President, Buhari. Those with him include Ministers of Interior- Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Mines and Industries- Olamilekan Adegbite, Niyi Adebayo- Trade and Investments and Olorunnibe Mamora- Health state. Also present were Governors of Ondo, Oyo, Ekiti & Lagos state.
The camera which was discovered by Fashola after he picked it up with the aid of a handkerchief (to avoid contamination of evidence…lol), was handed over to Sanwo-Olu, Lagos state governor, for proper analysis and investigation. He said the camera must have been planted by some subversive elements priory to the reported shootings for ulterior motives. He further said;
“I think this will help with the ongoing investigations into the shootings at the Lekki Toll Gate. “It requires forensic analysis and could be used in the investigations to unravel the mystery surrounding the shootings at the Toll Gate, I believe.”
However, critics ask how come such is been discovered seven days after the incident occurred. Also, the area has been cleaned up by LAWMA (Lagos State Waste Management Authority), as well as other private volunteers.
This prompted widespread criticism as well as anger amongst Nigerians. Others made quick comedy skits as a form of comic relief!
