In an effort to make its quarterback position stronger, the Cincinnati Bengals have perfected a trade with a division opponent, the Cleveland Browns, to get talented quarterback Joe Flacco into its squad and a 2026 sixth-round pick to make an exchange that will see a fifth-rounder.

This trade follows the need for the Bengals to ensure stability in their squad under center after a toe injury sustained by Joe Burrow, which has prevented him from participating in any game since Week 2.

To cover up for the place of Joe Burrow, backup Jake Browning has tried, but his best was not enough to prevent the team from recording three consecutive losses, as he has only been able to achieve eight interceptions in the three games.

40-year-old Joe Flacco became a member of the Cincinnati Bengals’ squad after a short stint with the Browns, where he secured the title of 2023 NFL Comeback Player of the Year. He was once an MVP of the Super Bowl, and he is expected to bring his wealth of experience and leadership skills to assist the team in staying in playoff competitions.

The Cincinnati Bengals have let go of Brett Rypien to make room. Playing for the Cincinnati Bengals will add to his record for having played for all the teams in the AFC North aside from the Steelers.

On the other side, the Cleveland Browns are attempting to promote a rookie, Shedeur Sanders, to the No. 2 quarterback role, coming only after Dillon Gabriel.
