Subsequent updates have revealed that there is no truth in the rumours being shared on social media that there will be a major solar eclipse this weekend.
As seen, the “eclipse of the century,” which has now become very popular, will not happen this weekend but in two years, on August 2, 2027. NASA, in its report, mentioned that the total solar eclipse will not exceed 6 minutes and 23 seconds at its peak and will be the record of one of its longest since 34 years.
One of the major things that will be experienced during the total solar eclipse is that a shadow will be cast on the Earth as a result of the moon completely covering the sun.
The eclipse lasted 4 minutes and 28 seconds on April 8, 2024. To this day, the eclipse of 1991 still holds the record for the longest experience, lasting for 6 minutes and 53 seconds. The next eclipse to occur in two years will be longer than the recent one until the year 2114.
The total solar eclipse that is reported to occur in two years’ time will not be visible to most people who reside in the U.S. but will be clear to the people residing in some parts of Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. It has also been reported that the world will witness another total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026.
The total solar eclipse, which will be seen again next year, is expected to be felt by those people who live in Greenland, Spain, and other regions.
