An alcoholic beverage brand in the U.S., High Noon, has initiated the recall for specific cans of its product, vodka seltzers, which were erroneously labelled as Celsius energy drinks.
A notice, as seen on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration‘s website, revealed that the recall affects some packs of Beach Variety that contain vodka seltzer from High Noon but have the label of Celsius Astro Vibe Sparkling Blue Razz Edition on them, featuring a silver-colored top.
These erroneously labelled goods are now in circulation across states that include Ohio, New York, Florida, Wisconsin, South Carolina, and Virginia, as they were distributed to marketers there between July 21 and July 23.
The producing company blamed the error on the mistake committed by the packaging supplier, who mistakenly forwarded the cans of Celsius to its production area.
At the time of filing this report, no adverse reaction or illness has been reported to any quarter, but High Noon appealed to their customers to be sure to check their purchases to avoid unintended consumption of alcohol.
This recent recall by the company has raised concerns over errors in packaging by firms in the U.S. and the importance of ensuring that products do not leave the production companies until they are properly labelled, especially when related suppliers manufacture non-alcoholic and alcoholic products.
