JCPenney has announced its intention to permanently close seven of its stores across the United States by Sunday, 25 May. Among the locations set to close is the retailer’s sole Denver outlet at The Shops at Northfield, 8568 E. 49th Ave.
The new plans come after a wave of recent closures at the same shopping centre, including Macy’s and Del Taco earlier this year.
JCPenney will continue to operate 11 other stores in Colorado, located in Brighton, Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, Jefferson County, Lone Tree, Pueblo, and Westminster, despite the closure in Denver.
The other six JCPenney stores scheduled for closure this month are located at The Shops at Tanforan in San Bruno, California; Pine Ridge Mall in Pocatello, Idaho; West Ridge Mall in Topeka, Kansas; Fox Run Mall in Newington, New Hampshire; Asheville Mall in Asheville, North Carolina; and Charleston Town Center in Charleston, West Virginia.
