Singer Avery revealed she now suffers a bone-thinning disease after just taking ozempic for weight loss for just one year. This is coming after Rebel Wilson says she no longer uses the drug that brought her to shape.
While trying hard to fight back tears, Avery said she now suffers osteoporosis and osteopenia – a disease of the bone that causes loss in bone density.
In the video, she said she took ozempic for one year before she stopped due to the side effects and health challenges the weight loss medicine gave.
After two months of not taking it, she decided to go for a full body check to monitor her improvements and see if there were any permanent damages she might have had.
Her worst nightmare was revealed by her doctors who told her that she now suffers from both osteoporosis and osteopenia – a rare bone disease that causes loss of bone mass/density. Watch her video below:
According to the Cleveland Clinic, osteopenia precedes osteoporosis. Just like HIV to AIDS, Osteopenia means one already has reduced bone density, and if not checked on time and properly managed, can result in osteoporosis where the bone thickness is so eroded and weakened that a simple fall might result in the person breaking bones.
The silent disease reportedly affects about 40 million people in the United States alone.
The Popularity Of Ozempic Among Celebrities For Weight Loss
Following the drastic and celebrated Rebel Wilson’s weight loss and her disclosure of using ozempic for her weight loss, the wonder drug has become the go-to for celebrities seeking to maintain a slim sexy figure.
Rebel Wilson who lost about 80 pounds when she started her weight loss journey gave kudos to ozempic for curbing her appetite. Though ozempic was originally meant to manage and treat diabetes, it has found another use in the weight loss market because of its properties and is now widely abused.
The drug spikes insulin levels in response to sugar intake, signals the brain that the stomach is full, while also slowing down the rate at which food leaves the stomach.
According to Ozempic, common side effects of using their drug are: nausea, diarrhea, stomach (abdominal) pain, vomiting, and constipation.
