Mexican Woman That Gave Birth In Gas Station & Flushed Baby Sentenced

A Mexican migrant who was captured on camera entering a gas station where she gave birth to a baby in the restroom and tried flushing the newborn in the toilet has been sentenced to 4 years in prison.

The ugly crime happened on April 2, 2023, when CCTV captured the woman, identified as  Diana Guadalupe Zavala Lopez leaving her car in a Shell gas station and into the store where she then entered the bathroom.

Just like the biblical Hebrew women, Diana gave birth quickly with very little or no labor and without the assistance of a midwife or medical professional, but unlike the Hebrew women who wanted their kids’ survival, Diana sought to destroy the life of hers.

She thought the best way to kill her newborn was to simply dispose of her inside the toilet. Diana flushed the baby but when the infant did not go down the drain pipe, she opted to leave her inside the toilet.

Having spent 15 minutes inside, the gas store’s surveillance camera captured her leaving and entering her car, her legs stained with blood. Her evil act was only discovered when another woman went to use the convenience at about 4.25am. Video below:

It was not noted if she had carried the pregnancy to full term before the restroom delivery or if it was premature. It was not also revealed if the baby had died during delivery or from drowning inside the toilet. As seen from the video, Diana’s tummy was not looking that big. According to her, she had only come to the store after feeling sick at a party, where she gave birth in the bathroom and flushed the toilet.

An autopsy report has not been released to the public but authorities said the baby was dead for over an hour before she was discovered.

Diana Guadalupe Zavala Lopez was arrested the same year in August at a bus station in Brownsville, Texas, by officers of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Authorities believed she was trying to flee back to Mexico. The 26-year-old came to the United States via a visitor’s visa, which she had overstayed.

Following her arrest and appearance in court, Diana Guadalupe pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence, human corpse, and tampering/fabricating physical evidence with the intent to hinder an investigation.

Though the police noted her as a homicide suspect on the run, no homicide charge was later filed against her.

Her 4 years sentence will be reduced by the 489 days she has spent so far behind bars.
