The woman who made rape accusations against three of Duke lacrosse players in 2006 has publicly confessed that the story she mentioned was fabricated and seek for their forgiveness.

The woman made the confession while she was in an interview on the “Let’s Talk with Kat,” that was hosted by Katerena DePasquale while in prison for a second-degree unrelated murder conviction.

The rape allegation against the players was dismissed in 2007 by General Roy Cooper, a North Carolina’s Attorney with the claim that Mangum likely believe different stories that she told.

Crystal Mangum was also not charged for lying under oath, and now she can not be penalized under the state law because it is too late.

This apology is coming after almost two decades when Mangum made the false accusations. In a book that she wrote in 2008, she insisted that something happened that night, but her story continues to change.

She now feel remorseful for the lies against the players as she called them David Evans, Collin Finnerty, and Reade Seligmann, her “brothers.”

The Duke community earlier had no reason to doubt Mangum story, but the case fell off. David Evans, Collin Finnerty, and Reade Seligmann later initiated a court case against Dune and its ex-President Richard Brodhead, for the ways that they handled the whole situation.

Magnum says her faith and believe in God is the reason that she has made the confession.
