President-Elect Donald Trump Nominates Lori Chavez-DeRemer As Labour Secretary

The United States’s President-Elect Donald Trump has nominated a Republican Representative member of Oregon State, Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer as his choice of candidate to the the country’s Department of Labor.

The Oregon State representative Chavez-DeRemer recently lost her election to return. She is well respected by members of the union in her district due to her support for labor matters.

If her appointment as Labor Secretary is confirmed, the former Rep member will be responsible for heading the department’s workforce, budget, and policies that affect workers’ wages, safety, health, and right to be members of union, including employers right to manage personnel decisions.

Sources confirm Chavez-DeRemer who is now 56 years old visited Trump on Thursday at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

This nomination has received wide commendation from stakeholders including the president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Sean O’Brien, who discussed his readiness to work with her in other to strengthen the middle class and expand Union jobs.

She is also one of the few members of the a House from Republican party who supported “Protecting the Right to Organize” (PRO) Act, which intends to make it easy for staff to organize and penalize companies that breach workers’ rights.
